In the first true test of his mettle, the Ray tackles an erupting volcano and, in so doing, learns the awesome responsibility that comes with the power he wields!

The reluctant hero Ray Terrill is taught by his father how to use his powers and how to use them effectively against something as deadly as a volcano. Ray has his first chance to be a real hero.

Meanwhile Ray' love interest Jenny Jurden is kidnapped by two nuns that new Sister Rosemary and Sister Mary Rose. The two take her an unknown location somewhere east where Jenny is shown why she cannot be with the Ray. It ends with Jenny rejecting Ray and ray leaving discouraged.
